Day 283

Ta-da! My first sweater. Very Exciting indeed!

Before the inevitable comments ensue, let me point out that very little else has been done whilst I've been knitting this: the pile of dirty dishes has reached Olympian proportions, the parsnips have sprouted and begun reproducing in the fridge, and entire civilisations of dust bunnies have developed under the sofa. Methinks I could do with a wee bit more balance. But it was worth it. I LOVE this sweater. :)

Naturally, there would have to be more...

Not a great picture of me, but you get the idea: it fits! And wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles, the sleeves are long enough. (As I'm 5'9", this is a rare occurrence with purchased tops.) I'm over the moon!

Day 272

I dithered for months about buying these shoes. Ordinarily I'm very practical about shoes. And these were silver, higher heels than I usually wear, and worst of all, decidedly trendy. (Although some of their appeal came from seeing a similar pair in a Jeeves & Wooster episode, set in the Edwardian era, so it could be considered a classic style in some sense...) Finally I succumbed, and now I'm wondering why I didn't buy them sooner. Love, love, love! more...
